It is often difficult to balance high productivity with high herd health status. Micro-nutrients can play an important role in ensuring herd health and immunity are strengthened. This balanced supply is often difficult to achieve with conventional feedstuffs/minerals.
Research work has shown that organically chelated trace elements, where the mineral is bonded to an essential amino acid, can improve utilisation by the calf. Trace element imbalances in the diet can either be naturally ocurring or induced. The 'lock-up' of trace elements by heavy metals may lead to dietary imbalances and resulting productive disorders.
First calving heifers & mature cows should be drenched with 100ml 3-4 weeks. A further 100ml maybe administered pre-bulling.
Cows not drenched before calving should be drenched 3-4 weeks before service or during lactation if they are failing to hold to the bull.
Larger continental cows and stock bulls should receive 100ml. Stock bulls require 150ml.
